Look closely, though, it's been some time since I did this. As I recall, I grinded it flush with a dremel. I had an NHM-90 (Chicom RPK) some years ago, with that pin. The pin was put in place so the rifle would only accept the Chicom 5 round magazine, thus making it a sporting rifle with a thumbhole stock. Last edited by crlovel September 8th, 2011 at 07:32 AM. However, seeing as how you have a neutered AK with a thumbhole stock, no muzzlebreak, only accepting shitty little five round mags that aren't all that east to remove, etc, I'd recommend you do the necesssary work to make it fully 922 compliant and turn it into the rifle it's meant to be. This will likely put you in violation of the 922 bullshit, as it will accept highcap mags, but I am not 100% sure. I am guessing that has something to do with the import policies for Chinese firearms. Right now, there is a pin in the mag well that prevents installation of any AK mag without a slot on the tab. I have a Norinco NHM-90 rifle and would like to know if it can be modified to accept regular AK magazines.
